Approach
WLI provides training and technical support to each cohort member to address their specific needs. This is accomplished through the implementation of a dynamic and responsive model to advance each leader’s skills and strategies in leadership, fundraising, capacity, and long-term sustainability.
WLI cohort members have lived experience and deep knowledge of community strengths and needs, rendering them the experts who have the answers and ability to provide for and catalyze innovation from within the community. These leaders need broader networks and access to policy and decision makers, sustainable and unrestricted funding, a meaningful seat at the decision-making table, and to be viewed and respected by others as experts. As such, this is how the WLI curriculum is designed – to expand upon members’ existing skills and interests, to open doors, and to be of service to help them grow in the ways they feel will be of benefit to the broader community. Every month, WLI offers cohort members myriad opportunities to engage; we offer a unique integration of responsive training, individualized support, technical assistance, and financial support.
