WLI Welcomed the Inaugural Cohort
WLI invited 7 nonprofit and community leaders to join the inaugural cohort.
The UCLA Watts Leadership Institute (WLI) helps build nonprofit sector knowledge, capacity, and sustainability by providing long-term support to a cadre of community-based leaders, equipping them to elevate and fortify the responsive organizations and programs they have designed for the Watts community.
The UCLA Watts Leadership Institute (WLI) sees a Watts community where the leaders and visionaries who work here have access to an abundance of resources and networks; where they are recognized as experts for their lived experience and deep knowledge of community strengths and needs; and where they lead thriving and sustainable local nonprofit organizations and volunteer associations.
WLI invited 7 nonprofit and community leaders to join the inaugural cohort.
WLI invited ten nonprofits and community leaders to join the second cohort.
In January 2021, members of Cohort 1 advanced to WLI Fellows.
In November 2023, members of Cohort 2 advanced to WLI Fellows.
WLI invited seven nonprofits and community leaders to join their third cohort.
“WLI supports the leaders in Watts to further advocate for the broader community to have the access and capacity to shape the policies, practices, and institutions that impact their everyday lives.”
